The foundation of Cardinal Mays Advisors and Associates was started (laid) in 2017 when two college friends Christopher Campbell and Lemond Ponton decided to form a partnership where they would leverage each other’s unique strengths to increase financial stewardship and comprehensive financial planning in diverse markets. Whether you’re black, white, Asian, women or LGBTQ etc. you represent those we look to serve. In 2019 the duo joined Northwestern Mutual: Goodwin, Wright in Atlanta, GA. In their first full year of production at Northwestern Mutual they were recognized as Summit Advisors which represents the top 5% of advisors in the company*. The following year in 2020, the duo reached another historical milestone. Dating back to the firms storied history which began in 1885 the team of Campbell/Ponton became the first African American Advisory team in Goodwin, Wright history to achieve Forum. Forum represents the top 1% of Advisors in the company.
**In 2021 Campbell was called into leadership, that year he created a national study group for African American advisors with the goal of connecting and mentoring advisors from across the country. In 2022 Campbell led the Atlanta office in Under 5 first year production: 2 advisors qualified for the top 100 new advisors in the southern region and also had one of his advisors qualify for top 50 new advisor production in the country.
In the fall of 2023 Cardinal Mays Advisors and Associates was officially formed. The mission of the company is to shift the mindsets of clients in diverse markets through education, empowerment, and holistic planning to produce financially healthy and wealthy individuals. The vision of the company is to provide an inclusive space for experienced and new financial representatives to grow their practice and attract clients in an authentic way. Christopher and Lemond are proud to partner with WestPoint Financial Group in their pioneering effort to provide world class service to diverse markets.
